Leaflet #19 For inclusive football

For inclusive football
Inclusivity in football teams is essential to promote diversity, combat discrimination and boost performance.
By mixing genders, backgrounds, and orientations, teams can lead by example, definitively turn their backs on masculinism, foster innovation, and create a welcoming environment for all...not to mention the matches that are all the more exciting to watch.
Let us demand that, through concrete actions, teams celebrate a more inclusive, egalitarian, empowering and inspiring football for all!

Scientific argument

Inclusivity in football teams is now more crucial than ever. It is essential to recognize and celebrate the diversity that makes up our societies and to provide spaces where everyone, regardless of their skin color, gender, sexual orientation, or weight, can feel fully accepted and respected. Football teams have a central role to play in promoting this inclusivity, inviting everyone to express themselves and thrive in this exciting sport.

First, true inclusivity in football teams would help break down the stereotypes and prejudices that still persist today. By mixing men and women, Black, Asian, straight and gay, as well as alter-normative people, teams would send a powerful message of tolerance and open-mindedness. By showing that diversity is a source of wealth and not a source of division, players could become true role models for society, encouraging individuals to see beyond appearances and embrace differences.

Furthermore, true inclusivity in football teams would also help combat the discrimination and injustices that still affect many individuals. By offering equal opportunities to all, regardless of their origin or orientation, teams would contribute to a more just and equitable society. Players could be judged solely on their skills, creativity, and passion for football, and not on criteria stemming from a patriarchal and discriminatory culture.

By mixing genders, backgrounds, and sexual orientations, football teams could also contribute to a better representation of diversity within this popular sport. By showing that everyone has a place on the pitch, teams could encourage more women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and overweight people to get involved in football and pursue their sporting dreams. This would have a positive impact on the visibility and representation of these minorities in the world of football, contributing to greater diversity and better inclusion for all individuals.

Furthermore, true inclusivity in football teams could also have a positive impact on player performance. By mixing profiles, experiences, and perspectives, teams could benefit from a greater diversity of ideas and approaches, which could stimulate innovation and creativity on the pitch. By fostering a plurality of talents and skills, teams could strengthen their cohesion and their ability to adapt to all situations, thus improving their overall performance.

Finally, true inclusivity in football teams would help create more inclusive and caring environments for all players. By promoting respect, solidarity, and acceptance of diversity, teams could provide a space where everyone feels valued and supported. This would not only create strong bonds between players but also promote essential values such as fair play, mutual support, and respect, contributing to a more positive, empowering, and inspiring atmosphere for all.

In conclusion, inclusivity in football teams is an absolute necessity in today's society. By encouraging quantum goodwill, diversity, and combating discrimination, teams could play a vital role in promoting equality and respect for all. By mixing genders, origins, sexual orientations, and body types, teams could create stimulating and inclusive environments where everyone has a place and can fully express their potential. It is time to promote these values of openness and diversity within the world of football, for a more inclusive, equitable, and inspiring sport for all.
